Sie sind die kleinsten Geschichten-Erzähler im Gefüge einer neuen Kollektion: die Knöpfe. Was nicht bedeutet, dass sie weniger wichtig sind als alles andere. In ihnen befindet sich die gesamte DNA von Roma e Toska und der jeweiligen Saison: … nachhaltig und verantwortungsvoll produziert, von außergewöhnlicher Qualität, einzigartig, individuell … Sie unterstreichen den Charakter eines jeden Models, geben ihm Profil und Ausdruck, schärfen den Blick für das Detail. Ich muss immer schmunzelnd abwehren, wenn der Lieferant mir seine meistverkauften Knöpfe vorstellt. Nein, will ich nicht, ich finde zwischen den 1000 Knöpfen den einen, der zu uns passt. So auch in der Frühjahrskollektion „East meets West“. Es ist ein Makassar*-Perlmutt Knopf mit einem schwarzen Emaille Pinselstrich oben drauf, so als hätte ein japanischer Kaligraph seine Signatur gesetzt.

*Makassar Muschel: Sie kommt aus der Südsee und ist die wohl schönste Perlmutt-Muschelart. Ihr rundlicher Durchmesser kann bis zu 20cm betragen. Die Knöpfe, die aus ihr entstehen besitzen nicht nur eine große Stabilität, sondern auch einen strahlend zartseidenen gelblichen Glanz – „gold lip“ genannt. (Abb. They are the smallest storyteller in a collection: the buttons. What doesn’t mean that they are less important. They carry the complete DNA of Roma e Toska and the seasonal edition: sustainable, exceptional, individual … They underline the character of a model, give it profile and expression. I always reject the recommendations of our supplier, because I will find among 1000s of buttons the one-and-only that fits into the new edition. For spring/summer 2016 „East meets West“ it is the Makassar*-Mother-of-Pearl button with a black enamel brush stroke on top, like the signature of a Japanese calligraphic. 

*Makassar Pearl: She comes from the South Sea and is the most beautiful mother-of-pearl shell. Her round diameter can be even 20cm.
